Shui Yanyu is a member of the Shui Clan and is also a teacher at Northern Institution.

After she killed Lang Ziwei, she fought against Lang Yang. In the fight, she was severely injured and she managed to survive because Ling Han took Lang Yang into the Black Tower. After she saw the incident, she realized how powerful Ling Han's spatial god tool was. After solving the problem with the Lang Clan members, she and Ling Han continued their journey and she was also told by Ling Han about the use of the Black Tower. After she and Ling Han obtained the Mountain and River Stone, she and faced off against seven people with Mountain and River Realm cultivation. Since Ling Han found it impossible to win, Ling Han told her to leave first and meet again at Crimson Lake. After she met up with Ling Han again at Crimson Lake, she immediately told her the circumstances that happened at Crimson Lake. When Ling Han wanted to refine the Mountain and River Stone, she and Hu Feiyun were willing to protect Ling Han. At night, she and Ling Han wanted to take a walk around the island, as she felt that there was something strange on the island. After that, she and Ling Han were visited by Guo Xiuwen who invited her and Ling Han to visit Guo Xiuwen's workshop. After arriving at Guo Xiuwen's workshop and learning the truth that the human puppet in Guo Xiuwen's workshop came from living people who were killed and their bodies were modified into puppets, after learning this, she was furious. After she left the Large Tomb, she took the entrance exam to the Majestic Heaven Sect. In the exam, she successfully passed and was accepted as a disciple of the Majestic Heaven Sect. In the Majestic Heaven Sect, she obtained the status of an ordinary disciple.
When she was in Majestic Heaven Sect, she was always being harassed by Bi Hua. However, she was saved by Ling Han who was in disguise. After that, she and the others immediately left the Yellow Spring Mystery Realm. When Ling Han came out of the Black Tower, she informed that Gao Huang accused her of killing his fellow disciples to obtain the Thousand Source True Fluid. She was worried at first, but after being reassured by Ling Han her worries subsided. After all of Majestic Heaven Sect's elites were wiped out, she immediately went to Ling Han because she wanted to hug Ling Han, but she was caught by Hu Niu. After which she was taken by Hu Niu towards the Celestial Realm.
